Education

I have a Multidisciplinary Sciences Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas, San Antonio. My focus was science and math. I also have a Minor in Geology from the same school. I have a Natural Science Associate's Degree from Skyline College (California) focusing in all the science, both biological and physical (as well as a few computer science courses to round it all out). I graduated with honors for both degrees.

Experience

I have tutored other classmates while in college (both math, and science - volunteer), as well as taught chemistry courses while still in high school. For around ten years I worked as an educational zoologist. This career choice allowed me to work with, and show, various animals to the public, and teach both children and adults about the amazing animals they were looking at.

Hobbies

I know that each student learns differently, and so I've managed to figure out how to adjust my teaching styles per individual. No student should suffer because their teacher refuses to teach in a way they understand. It's my hope that I will be able to help students learn math and science in their comfortable ways, and not fear either subject. Aside from teaching, writing, reading, and learning, I enjoy MMORPGs and real-time or turn-based strategy videogames. Because of this, I am generally able to get in tune with students who also enjoy video games. I played sports all through my young life, and enjoy watching baseball, hockey, and football. While I was in school, however, I was generally part of the nerdy crowd. I love animals of all shapes and sizes (yes, even the reptiles!). I generally have an upbeat, cheerful look on life, and hope that helps students feel comfortable when working with me! :)
