EducationI am currently a first year medical student at UTHSCSA. I received a dual degree in microbiology and neurobiology in December of 2012 from the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated Westlake high school in 2008.
ExperienceI have been tutoring for the past 7 years in subjects ranging from AP Physics 1&2 to college level Calculus. I scored a 5 on 11 AP tests in high school, including Government and two years of English (although I am a science major). I also have experience teaching English as a second language-I spent the summer of 2012 in Costa Rica teaching a wonderful group of about 30 kids (aged 2-12) in Leon XIII.
If you are looking for test prep, I scored a 2100 on my SAT in 2007, and a 34Q on my MCAT in January of 2011. The most important thing about preparing for a big standardized exam is organization. I prepare a daily study schedule for all of my test prep students, and help tackle such a daunting task by reducing the studying process into small tasks.
I have recently matriculated into the UT health science center medical school in San Antonio, so I am available for resume, personal statement and interview prep as well.
HobbiesI have a wide range of interests, and my hobbies vary from art to reading to being a member of the robotics team in high school. I love to do anything hands on, and that's the approach I take with tutoring. I also love to be outdoors, especially with my dog!
