I began tutoring in high school and I truly love working with students in a one-on-one setting. I find the individual attention students receive when they work individually with a tutor can lead to substantial learning gains in a much shorter period than is typical in a classroom setting. Part of this is due to the ability of the tutor to customize the learning experience for the student's particular learning style and needs. I enjoy the process of getting to know my students and having the opportunity to show them that the learning process can be fun and enjoyable. To make the process more engaging and accessible for the student, I create each lesson specifically for them taking into account their academic strengths and weaknesses, their personality and interests, and their learning style. Some of the subjects I offer tutoring for include pre-algebra, algebra 3/4, algebra 1 & 2, pre-calculus, calculus 1 & 2, geometry, middle school math, Korean, AP calculus AB and BC, AP physics 1, languages, science, and physics. I also help students who are preparing for an exam such as the ACT or SAT. I know that students learn best when they are actively engaging with the learning material and I strive to make this a part of every tutoring session.
