I recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Mathematics. During my time at UT I student-taught middle school aged students, took a directional class specializing in children's learning through play, and spent a summer teaching at an engineering summer camp. My passions lie within math and teaching. My love for teaching and math stems back to my childhood. The first memory I have involving math, as a child, is anxiously waiting for my father to get home from work to play "games" with me; little did I know, these "games" were multiplication tables, math tricks, and math problems that I was racing against my father to solve. To this day I still think of math as a game. I'd be the happiest girl in the world if I could problem-solve and crunch numbers all day. I love all branches of math and have been very successful at breaking it down to make it easier for anyone to understand. Many people, from children to adults, squirm at the mere thought of math; my goal is to break that learning barrier down with positive energy, all the while, breaking the material down and presenting it in a way my students can relate to and understand.
