I have four year experience teaching in the classroom as a TEA certified secondary math teacher and this is my fifth year as private math tutor.
Experience
This is my full-time career so I am available Sunday - Thursday during the day and evening and am available to meet at various locations (I no longer make home visits) . All sessions are at least one whole hour of instruction with one student at a time unless otherwise requested. I am not the type of mathematician that talks to you like a robot. I make every effort to speak to my students in a manner they can understand and help them learn the language of mathematics over time with patience and compassion. I always try to remember the struggles and emotions I encountered during my education so that I can empathize with my students and respect their feelings and needs and use as many methods of teaching as is necessary.
