Roy M.
Private tutor in San Antonio, TX
Education
I am a 1996 graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and I am a state certified educator. I was selected for Who's Who Among College Students, and a member of the National Dean's List.
Experience
I have taught fourth through eighth grades in Catholic schools for 11 years, and have taught for seven years in public school in the Edgewood Independent School District. In addition, I have conducted both morning and afternoon tutoring sessions for not only my own students, but students in other grades as well. I have also participated in Saturday school tutoring sessions for participating students. I have also served as a mentor for students in our programs, and have taken classes to serve as a registered mentor. I have also served as a one-on-one aid for a special needs student at a school in the North Side School District. I also tutored junior high students for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness test in the Edgewood Independent School District. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy the rewards of seeing students succeed. My fourth grade class was taped for the Jim Lehrer Show in 1998 for its participation in the school voucher program. I have been certified in Gifted and Talented instruction, Robotics coaching, and in University Scholastic League Social Studies group competition.
