I liked school and learning. I received two degrees from Brigham Young University, a bachelor's degree in Developmental Biology and another in French Studies. I furthered my education while living in France for 18 months, studying philosophy, creative writing, and gymnastics (I was never able to twirl around a bar though). I also went to law school at the University of San Francisco. During my time at BYU, I had the opportunities to tutor writing and work as a lab teacher for a molecular biology lab and French II. This led me to research different teaching methods. While in law school, I taught a class about how the law affects everyday life to high school students. My education gives me the ability to comfortably tutor the sciences, English, French, and both European and US history. I can help if you are struggling in a class or are looking for someone to help prepare you for college entrance exams, including the LSAT. I have found that the first thing students need is self-confidence. They need to believe they are capable of understanding a new concept, even if they do not grasp it at first. With self-confidence, students keep trying and pushing themselves until they finally get it. I try to teach my students to be honest and sincere in all their endeavors, and always keep trying. I use games and pop quizzes as learning aids, and I spend a lot of time just talking with the students instead of trying to lecture to them.
