I believe in the power of education, and the importance of a college education to succeeding in the United States. An unavoidable requirement for college applications is performing well on standardized tests. I am committed to helping students reach their goals in preparing for these sometimes intimidating exams. I am a lover of both English and foreign languages. I am skilled at teaching all English subject areas and am happy to tutor students in Spanish or Russian. Specific subject areas in which I am available for tutoring include Spanish 1-4, Russian, ESL/ELL, TOEFL, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, SAT, ACT, and general test preparation.I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where I double majored in philosophy and Russian language and culture. I earned an ESL teaching certificate and lived and taught English in Ukraine for almost a year and a half. I have returned to the U.S., and am in the process of preparing for sitting the LSAT. I intend to attend law school and am interested in ultimately practicing immigration law. I have a year of experience working for a small fiction e-publishing company where I was an editor. In my free time I love to pursue my interests in literature, movies, soccer, and music.
