1985 to present: Tutored foreign-national college students in English writing skills for use in college papers: reports, presentations, finals, examinations, etc. 1985: Worked closely with lobbyists (working-from-home) doing FPPC reports and correspondence. 1994-1997: Worked with Sacramento school district organizing translations of documents and arranging tutors and interpreters for over 50 languages spoken by students and their parents in the district. 1997-2005: Worked at Intel Corporation as an employee then as an independent contractor in the HR department managing hiring, retention, and immigration of employees. This job included writing visa applications for foreign national employees requiring visas to enter the US for work and training. 2006 to present: Self-employed as a writer and event specialist in the wedding industry organizing events, writing advertising content, contracts, and correspondence.

From my earliest memory, I have been involved with English literature. My mother has been an elementary school teacher for 30 years. She read to me beginning at the age of 1; I grew up on novels such as "Winnie-the-Pooh" by A.A. Milne, "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott, "Wuthering Heights", by Emily Bronte, and "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, for example. I developed a love of reading and writing that has remained with me and carried me through the tough times in my life: It is my refuge and my "calm". Writing offers me the opportunity to express myself in a manner that is acceptable and memorable. College taught me to adapt my English skills to the disciplines of legal writing, business writing and academic writing which opened new horizons for me! Having been brought up with a good understanding of the basics of English, English literature, and the proper construction of a written document, has held me in good stead throughout my life. I would like to offer my skills and knowledge to others who may need help in this area, as well as help them discover their own love of reading and writing . Good reading and writing skills are essential to success!
