Education
I am a Senior Psychology Major, Biology Minor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. GPA: 3.8
Experience
I started working as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Biology by request from one of my professors. Teaching Assistant positions are typically held by Graduate students. The next semester that professor referred me to the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program (the Biology Department didn't let him choose his TA that semester). I have worked with college students in historically difficult classes with the SI Program for 3 semesters, specifically in Biology. Recently, I have been promoted to Senior Leader, training other SI Leaders. I have also spent a year tutoring High School students in biology, algebra, and chemistry. I love working with students. As a college student myself, I feel that I can see things from the perspectives of both the teacher and the student. I hope to bridge the gap between the two to make biology more understandable, and maybe even enjoyable! I also like to discuss study skills, because those are the tools that will help students become successful in their courses. GPA: 3.8 Coursework: Biosciences I & II, General Chemistry I & II, Honors Calculus for Biosciences, Statistics for Biosciences, Physics I & II, Genetics, Anatomy, Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Psychology of Thought
