Experience
A native of Latin America, I attended the Technical Institute of Costa Rica. Eleven years ago, I decided it was time for a change and made a big move to Phoenix, Arizona. Here in Phoenix, I attended Arizona State University. From there, I earned a master's degree in Engineering. For many years, I worked in that same field before changing course and becoming a math teacher at a middle school. I uncovered my inner purpose, which was educating. I am mathematically inclined, specializing in subjects such as, algebra, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry. I can work with students of all levels. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I am not opposed to assisting in teaching the language either. With education comes power. As an instructor, I will work to instill necessary critical thinking skills and show students how to solve problems on their own. Once understanding is obtained, those under my instruction will feel confident to go on and pursue their academic interests. My approach involves showing a genuine interest in those I teach so that I can get to know them on a deeper level and better their education experience. If I'm not teaching, I am usually visiting my home country or traveling on some other adventure. I also enjoy fashion and piano playing.
