Experience

Howdy! I'm Michael and I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. I have worked as an engineer in different settings, but I now work as an engineering teacher at a San Antonio area high school. My main goal is to help students who are wanting to pursue a career in engineering. Many students drop out of engineering because of the early Math and Physics classes. These are your typical “weed out” classes for engineering majors. I believe that our society needs more STEM professionals and I don’t want these early classes to be the reason students drop out of engineering. I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas. I am certified to teach Mathematics (Grades 6-12), Physics, and Engineering. As a certified teacher I have experience helping students learn new material and master concepts. Being an engineering teacher consists of very project based curriculum, but I often have students come to me for help in their math and physics classes. I also have experience tutoring college students in upper level mathematics such as Calculus I, II, III, and Differential Equations. Teachers and professors have quite a bit of material to get through and they often go quickly. I believe that one on one help in these difficult subjects can be very helpful. Mathematics and Physics are my passion. I enjoy the practicality of it and I believe that it is an important skill in many professions. I have always been a bit a of math nerd and received a minor in mathematics during my bachelor's degree at Texas A&M. I want to help students understand these subjects, so that they can build on their skills as the progress through their education. I am also available to help you prepare for the SAT and ACT. These tests are very important when it comes to scholarships and getting into the college of your choice. I can help you review for the exam and learn tactics to handle these timed multiple choice tests. If you are struggling with Math or Physics, know that you are not alone. These subjects are challenging. I am also here to help you prepare for the SAT and ACT. I would enjoy the opportunity to help you. Please contact me to schedule a session.
